"How to Cope with Living Gluten-Free" with Ali Shapiro

“How to Cope with Living Gluten-Free” with emotional eating coach Ali Shapiro

Having a difficult time coping with the transition of going gluten-free because of celiac or gluten intolerance?
Or perhaps you’re depressed and frustrated because you’ve got to give up more food because of other food sensitivities?

I personally had to give up more than just gluten (like dairy and eggs) and it made relating to others around me incredibly difficult.  I’d be the butt of jokes and after a certain amount of time, the feeling of isolation began to really wear on me.

Thus, I began to resent the food I ate and for a period of time, wasn’t so careful about being gluten-free.  I just wanted to “feel normal”, despite feeling sick as a result.  It’s interesting how far people will go to fit in at their own expense. Eventually I had to pick my own health over everything else which was well worth it.

That’s why I sat down with Ali Shapiro, an emotional eating coach, who knows exactly what it’s like to give up a lot of food, struggle with emotional eating, and overcome incredible odds (hint: she’s a cancer survivor).  Check out our incredible interview below about how to cope with the emotional impact of going gluten-free.
