Review: Hilary’s Eat Well Veggie Burger

In honor of Meatless Mondays (you know…the movement to reduce dietary consumption of animal products), I’d like to introduce to you Hilary’s Eat Well Veggie Burgers.  These millet-based vegan patties are actually quite tasty…so tasty in fact that my husband (an avid road cyclist) has been asking me to get him more.

Combining low-glycemic millet with ‘protein powerhouse’ quinoa, Hilary’s Eat Well burgers are incredibly easy to heat up.  With a crusty outside and a soft interior, both flavor options of the burgers (veggie and aduki bean) offer a great blend of flavor and taste derived from gluten-, soy-, corn-, dairy-, GMO-, yeast-, egg-, and nut-free ingredients.  (You only need to watch out if you’re sensitive or allergic to coconut.)

My absolute favorite is the Aduki Bean Burger.  Though a tad on the spicy side, I honestly loved the flavors paired with hints of lime and green chilis.  These burgers can easily be warmed in a toaster, toaster oven, oven or skillet.

They’re a terrific compliment to many different meals and dietary situations.  Even those who aren’t vegan can enjoy Hilary’s Eat Well – my meat-eating husband came to really enjoy adding an organic fried egg on top of a burger.  For myself, I love toasting one up, breaking it into pieces and adding it to a tomato salad with avocado, cucumber and lime juice.

Definitely a product to grab the next time you’re in the market, Hilary’s Eat Well Veggie Burgers are a delicious option safe for multiple allergies and filling for even those looking to simply cut out some meat.
