I completely remember the day that I had to give up not just gluten, but dairy too. It was a sad day after learning that my body was revolting against so many of my favorite foods. Though I was bummed, I found a sense of joy knowing that I might actually start feeling better.
Making the transition to removing dairy years ago wasn’t as easy as it is now. So Delicious has become a company which I’ve relied on for moments of creamy, dairy-free pleasure as well as for practical cooking experimentation. What I’ve found is that their products really do compare and hold up against my former dairy-loving days and that guests won’t even know the difference.
A new product just released this year from So Delicious is expanding out their coconut non-dairy milk line. What’s awesome about it is that though it’s unsweetened, it’s incredibly creamy and delicious.
Everyone… please meet the new Unsweetened Vanilla Coconut Milk beverage from So Delicious!
This product is highly versatile and works well whether you’re eating a bowl of your favorite gluten-free granola or baking. You can substitute it easily in any recipe. It’s also a great liquid base for smoothies, puddings and puree soups. What I love most is the consistency. Some dairy alternatives are incredibly thin and watery. Unsweetened Vanilla Coconut Milk is not like that at all and mimics the feel of cow’s milk the closest.
As you may know, I really encourage readers and clients alike to remove as much added sugar from their diets as possible. We know that sugar is a huge contributing factor to diabetes and cardiovascular disease, so taking it out of places like your milk alternative is a great place to begin since you’ll not even notice it! As a result, this product is on the allowed list for my popular Gluten-Free Sugar Cleanse program and keeps participants feeling ‘normal’ without all the unnecessary added sugar.
For those who remain skeptical about drinking an unsweetened dairy alternative, know this… coconut is inherently sweet. It might not be nearly as sweet as a banana or mango, but there is a underlying sweetness that shines through the Unsweetened Vanilla Coconut Milk. I was completely pleased drinking this on it’s own as well as using it over granola (I mean… 95% of granolas and cereals out there have plenty of sugar to begin with, so you’re doing yourself a real favor by leaving it out of the ‘milk’).
As for their certifications? There are many! The product is certified Gluten-Free through the Gluten Intolerance Group, Non-GMO, Kosher D.E., Vegan, and is made with organic coconuts.
Full Disclosure: I am a 2013 So Delicious Ambassador. Though I was not paid to write this review, I was provided a container of the product by the company in order to test it out.
Going dairy-free is most difficult when it comes to giving up cheese! I seem to give in to my craving and thus “fall off the wagon.”
I need to win this Coconut Milk because using Almond Milk doesn’t free with a creamy texture 🙂
While I’m not a huge fan of coconut water, I’d be interested in trying the coconut milk.
Going dairy free isn’t difficult, and I use coconut milk as a substitute all the time – it’s an adjustment in attitude.
I have cut down my intake of dairy, but it is very hard for me to completely go dairy free, as I love cheese. I do not drink cow’s milk and usually use an almond or almond/coconut beverage. I may have to go completely dairy free, due to a medical condition I am being treated for.
Going dairy free has definitely been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I made the decision to cut out milk right after I found out what was actually allowed to be left in the milk. I not only feel better, but I don’t have any more troubles with dry skin or hair.
I am dairy free most of the time. the coconut milk sounds delicious!
I changed from cow’s milk to coconut milk while on my weight loss journey. I still haven’t reached my long term goal so I am still working. From what I have read you burn the fat quickly in coconut milk as energy.
I LOVE So Delicious! I think it is the best non-dairy, non-soy alternative out there! We just tried their Almond milk yogurt and couldn’t believe how yummy it was! Their products really are the closest to real milk. I cook with unsweetened plain coconut milk all the time. No coconut flavor and no nutty flavor to those cream soup bases. (yes I make my own cream of soups so they are free of Gluten!) I so hope to win as I use their products daily!
I have gone primarily dairy free, but cheese on occasion has been hard to give up. I would love to try the coconut milk. Although I use the unsweetened almond milk it is a bit thin.
So I went milk free when I was 16 and lost 20lbs right away. other dairy products have been harder to give up for me, especially cheese. I try to do goat or sheep cheese as often as possible. i have found some great coconut milk recipes for ice cream that I have yet to try. Sour cream is another one that is hard to replace. Maybe when I make my own greek yogurt with almond milk I can find an replacement, but until then its a once and a while luxury.
Can’t if I when the coupons or not I’m excited for this product to come out. I’m drinking a coconut almond milk right now in my Smoothies and cereal. I love trying new gluten free diaryfree products and then share with friends and family.
my son is autistic and i want him to have the best healthiest diet he can
I think I have more than one food allergy. I already I know I am sensitive to gluten, and eggs. I used to be intolerant to milk as a baby. Something else is still causing me symptoms, eliminating dairy next.
I definitely notice a difference when I am dairy free! I have more energy and less mucus…yuk.
Going dairy free was easy for me. I always thought that I was lactose intolerance before I found out it was actually Celiac Disease. Coconut milk is the first time in my life, age 37, that I got to actually have and drink a full glass of milk.
I’ve done all three! I LOVE So Delicious products!!
I would love to win
Already working on going dairy free. I have been Gluten free since March!
Love it!!!
i’m gluten & lactose free because I’ve recently discovered I’m intolerant to both. I cannot express how grateful i am for brands like So Delicious that can accommodate me with no fears or worries about getting sick or “paying for it later”. I also have A friend whose little girl VERY allergic to dairy so their range of products allow me to make treats that are safe for everybody to enjoy 🙂
Going dairy free has been harder for me than going gluten free. I was in denial about going dairy free and at first didn’t do it, until I saw that I still had digestive issues while eating it. I enjoy all dairy products, and I would like to try these So Delicious products to try to change my mind on the taste of dairy alternatives.
Originally I thought going gluten free would be the most difficult adjustment I had ever made. Then I stopped all preservatives and GMOs. Now, with the thought of aspertaime in our dairy, I thought I had to give up milk, until I discovered coconut milk! Its rich and creamy and, I don’t feel like I’ve given up anything!
I’ve been dairy free for over 4 years now and I’ve never looked back to the dairy world. So Delicious has been and continues to be one of my staples in GF/DF drinks since the beginning. It’s the best.
Going dairy free has been easy with the almond milk, but giving up cheeses, yogurt & cottage cheese killing me. I hate trying to come up with ideas for things to eat. Plus having to cook 2 different meals, one for me one for husband. My meals r soooo boring
it has been hard to go dairy free but so delicious has made it easier. i look forward to trying the unsweetened vanilla coconut milk.
I have recently gone dairy free and have felt so much better. I have not haf stomach cramps nearly as bad as I used to. And my skin is starting to clear up.
Smoothies with coconut milk and fresh berries with a little bit of hemp seed thrown in for good measure make my day!
I’m curious to go dairy free since it’s been so wonderful giving up gluten for my health.
I am already dairy free, but now I am trying to get my 4 yr old son and my husband, who are both addicted to dairy milk, to be dairy free. I just purchased So Delicious coconut milk yesterday. I used the So Delicious coffee creamer and I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No pizza. I feel great and don’t miss the bloating…
Love your e-mails.
Going dairy-free has made such a positive impact on my physical well-being! I’ve experienced less digestive issues, less bloating and cramps, and just generally feel more lively 🙂 Coconut milk is one of my favorite dairy substitutes, my latest obsession being hazelnut coconut milk creamer from So Delicious!!
I went through the whole 30 cleanse program and without this coconut milk I could not have done it!! It was amazing in my coffee!
I’m not totally dairy free but we rarely eat cheese and our only real dairy is icecream
I have been dairy free for over a year. It was tough, but I did it. Health reasons was the culprit. I still miss cheese.

I am considering going dairy free. I do worry though about cheese. I love cheese. I will have to look though the stores to see what it avabilable.
I’m going to have to give up dairy soon. It’s been hard loosing gluten especially as a baker. I’d like to try some dairy free products, make the change a little easier.
I love this. Great alternative to milk.
We are just starting the dairy-free journey. It’s hard!!

Going dairy free is only easy if it makes you feel a ton better!
Going dairy free is super difficult for me.. I had an extreme addiction to chocolate milk. But I looove coconut milk and would so rather have it in my bowl of cereal than cows milk!
How can I buy So Delicious in bulks to save money? I really like this product: I have it for breakfast.
Thanks
Zed
Zed, I’d suggest contacting the company directly or talk to your local grocer. I am not affiliate with the company so I do not have that info for you.
