When you actually feel good, do you share what got you there with everyone you know? I certainly do and that’s why I can’t to share with you the best gluten free supplements out there!
Since you know how important feeling healthy is to me, I want to let you in on my secret weapon for the past five months — Nutrasumma Supplements.
Now before you think… “gosh, is this some sort of paid promotion?” No, it’s not. Nutrasumma hasn’t paid me anything nor twisted my arm to share about my stellar experience with their company.
They did reach out to me in the late spring and sent me some samples to try. From the moment I opened the box to discover every single product clearly marked Gluten-Free, I was impressed (as per my picture to the right).
The big question was – would the supplements work? Being mindful to the power of suggestion and the placebo effect, I experimented slowly and intelligently over the course of several months so that I’d be able to literally feel a difference using them.
The Best Gluten Free Supplements
I did not become a fan of the company overnight simply because they shipped me a care-package… I fell in love with Nutrasumma because after giving their products time to work and talking with the company, I actually felt better.
Some of my daily favorites are:
- Pea Protein powder which is vegan as well as gluten-free & soy-free. It incorporates very well with liquids (even water) and is low in both sugar and carbs. I’ve had chocolate and vanilla, and both flavors are equally delicious. I’ll usually add either a cup of frozen strawberries or my latest favorite combo is the Chocolate Pea Protein powder with 1 cup of frozen pear. It’s so incredibly good!!!
- Ginkgo Complex has become my go-to supplement to keep my brain on track. I’ve experienced a real boost of focus and clear-headedness that has allowed me to noticeably increase my productivity. Since I don’t do well with swallowing pills, I simply open the capsule and pour the powdered contents into my smoothie… and no, you can’t taste it!
- Amino Clear (BCAAs) is what I believe to be my secret weapon for working out, but not getting so sore afterwards that you doing things like walking up and down stairs becomes challenging. It’s also helped me improve my recovery time. I take it after a Crossfit workout in an 8-oz glass of water so that my muscles will get the materials they need to rebuild.
Good Ingredients & Safe Manufacturing Practices
Using ingredients that are up to the highest standards and qualities, Nutrasumma uses strict manufacturing practices to make sure that there’s no risk of cross contamination from other allergens. There’s no sharing of equipment for the gluten-free products and the very few that do contain gluten. and they are glad to answer any question or concern you throw their way.
Another plus for me is that they avoid using any GMO crops in their products! As you know, genetically modified organisms are cheap and companies will use them to keep their bottom line low. Like I said, Nutrasumma has stepped up to the supplement plate and is taking their role in the wellness world (and especially when it comes to the gluten-free community) seriously.
I’d love to say that real whole food is enough, but that’s sadly not always true given the depleted state of soil and nutrient quality in food. Plus other health issues (like gluten sensitivity, leaky gut, celiac disease, etc.) can leave you at a nutritional disadvantage. That’s why I use supplements as part of my nutritional arsenal (and they’ve helped me tremendously).
But before you run out to your local health food store, know that not all supplements are the same. You definitely get what you pay for, and when it comes to gluten hiding in them? It’s a real possibility since supplements aren’t covered under the new FDA Gluten-Free Labeling rules. Ultimately, you’ve got to find reputable companies that truly do care about your need to be gluten-free… and fortunately Nutrasumma is one!
Since the folks at Nutrasumma are so awesome… you can get 15% off your entire order by using the coupon code gfschools at check out. This offer is good until 4/30/14!!!

GNC brand, but looking for something GF!
I use Sunwarrior and Vega brand protein powder and I love both, but we need to cut back on Gluten due to sensitivities for my son. It is always easier to try a brand that is recommended by a trusted source.
I am always looking for an alternative to whey or milk based protein and this looks great!
MMmmmmmm…this looks like a wonderful package! Hope I win 🙂
I am finishing up Shakeology, whicht has wheat grass and barley in it. They claim it is gluten free, but I want to switch over to a protein powder that has NO chances of having anything in it that could affect my intestinal health!
I subscribe to Gluten Free School.
Menu plans.
I am a snacker, preferably salty, and am having a really hard time with what to munch on while keeping it GF, soy-free, low carb or no carb, etc. Any suggestions?
I need to know if I absolutely have to remove all gluten from my diet or if there is a percentage that will work. I’m not a celiac, but I have issues.
I try to use the most natural, vegan protein powder I can. Right now it is hemp protein. I would like to try pea protein as it is one I have not tried yet.
What I need help with is finding more sources of protein in my diet.
Are the products corn, dairy (casein), and potato-free as well?
Im interested in the amino’s, looking for an after work out option! Thanks.
I am curently experimenting with gluten free and vegan baking at high altitude. It has been a struggle.
I currently use Vega protein powder, but I am looking to switch it up.
I am interested in the product for memory.
I am on the list already! I need help with convincing my family that being gluten intolerant is not just a trend to lose weight.
I’d love to know more popular recipes turned gluten-free that my husband would enjoy with me. He’s not gluten-free, but eats some of my gluten-free foods, and I would love to make a meal that’s so tasty he wouldn’t miss the wheat.
I use Designer Whey protein products and would always like to try things that are better for me.
The most important thing I need help with on my gluten free diet right now is more gluten free, dairy, and grain free recipes. I use an egg protein right now but it just doesn’t do much for my smoothies. So it would be great to try NutraSumma.
I tried to answer the question but couldn’t see where — so what I need is to figure out how to get out of the kitchen. I swear I spend more than half my waking hours either cooking, baking or cleaning up!
Ditto on not being able to figure out where to post the comment and ditto on the answer! I don’t have time to cook as much as I need to in order to stay healthy!
I’m excited. I hope I win!
I currently do not use a protein powder, but am interested in adding one to my diet.
I’ve been using accelerade, which I like a lot, but I still get calf cramps sometimes and can’t figure out why! (except for the obvious, but I can’t figure out where I’m getting glutened). I’d like to try other supplements/powders to compare and see how my energy levels change.
I’ve been feeling a bit sluggish lately. I was looking at Nutrasumma products just a couple of days ago wondering what would help with the late morning and late afternoon energy crashes.
I tweeted followed answered questions and did thr newsletter. So I did everything woohoo
I am new to GF and only diagnosed Celiac 5 months. I am still trying to figure out what supplements and vitamins I need on this new diet. I can tell that I need something, though! This sounds like it would really help me feel a little bit better.
I struggle with lunch. Not too many gf choices. I have a whey protein smoothie for breakfast.
better stuff in my smoothies
Healthy, quick snacks and breakfast ideas are a problem for me since going GF.
Most important lesson to learn- finding out secretive hiding places of gluten- just found some in my vitamins and medications, and wondering where else it could be hiding…
Doing better if I snack or eat out. Need to lose weight.
I need good recipes that taste good. Do you have a cracker recipe?
I need help with low budget gluten free meals that are the most nutrient dense! What can I make, and what can I add to foods I already make to make them more nutrient dense? Thanks!
I use whey protein powder sparingly but would like a good brand to stick to!
Jennifer,
Do you take a multi vitamin? If so, which one?
Thank you,
Lisa
I use Sun Warrior now. I tasted Nutrasumma in Sprouts and really liked the taste, not too sweet like most. I would really like to try the supplements, Gluten Free is hard to find, most cheat a little when creating marketing.
The one thing that I need help with right now is being able to clearly explain why my daughter must be gluten and dairy free to my family. It is hard when they think a little bit won’t hurt.
I use Arbonne vegan protein powder sometimes. I would like to try the NutraSumma since it is lower in sugar and soy free.
I need to start tracking my meals each day to lose weight
I use Daily Burn Fuel right now but am really interested in all of the good reviews I the GF community has been giving this brand! My question is: do Celiac people trust that barley and wheat grass is truly GF? It is In theory because it hasn’t sprouted the seeds that contain gluten, but I’m not comfortable with it. NutraSumma needs to make a multivitamin that doesn’t contain the “grasses”!
What is the best thing to mix the protein powder in? Coconut water? Almond Milk? Isn’t it best not to mix fruit with protein because it causes gas?
I already subscribe to your newsletter. 🙂
Finding more “certified” gluten free products would be amazing!
got an email that I’m a winner … thanks for contacting me I’m really excited to find out more about being gluten free my Mom has been gluten free for over 20 years and me only a little over a year Thanks for all your tips and recipes.
